The Story

Most of the world has never tasted real cinnamon. What fills supermarket shelves is cassia — a cheaper, harsher bark from a different tree entirely. Ceylon Cinnamon (Cinnamomum verum) is the authentic species: softer, lighter, and far more nuanced. Ours is hand-rolled by craftsmen in Kandy and Matale, where the art of cinnamon peeling has been passed down for generations.

Uses

Baking, curries, teas, desserts, spiced drinks

Pairs With

Cardamom, vanilla, dark chocolate, apple, orange zest, star anise

Health & Wellness

Why Ceylon Cinnamon?

Blood Sugar Regulation

Ceylon Cinnamon contains compounds that mimic insulin and improve glucose uptake. Unlike cassia, it is safe for daily consumption due to its negligible coumarin content.

Powerful Antioxidants

Rich in polyphenols, Ceylon Cinnamon ranks among the top antioxidant spices — protecting cells from oxidative stress and free radical damage.

Anti-Inflammatory

Cinnamaldehyde and other active compounds in true cinnamon have demonstrated significant anti-inflammatory properties in clinical research.

Low Coumarin — Safe Daily

Cassia contains high levels of coumarin, which can damage the liver in large doses. Ceylon Cinnamon contains trace amounts, making it the only variety safe for regular use.

Cholesterol Support

Studies suggest regular consumption of Ceylon Cinnamon may help reduce LDL cholesterol and triglycerides while maintaining healthy HDL levels.
